Caping An Elk
A lot of time, money, and preparation have gone into planning your elk hunt, so once you bag that big bull, you’ll want the caping process of that elk to go as smooth as possible (see video).
Using the proper techniques and paying close attention to your field care will ensure your taxidermist can re-create your trophy accurately. Mistakes that are made when caping can be difficult for your taxidermist to repair, and can cost you extra money in the process.
The following videos will take you through the process of properly caping an elk. These videos can be used as a reference when caping other big game as well.
